Overview
Our client, a premium car manufacturer, was introducing a new product and was therefore refurbishing the existing factory. In the final phase of the refurbishment the sales forecast was increased significantly, requiring a change in the factory takt-time to accomodate this change quickly. In addition they needed the ramp-up rate to be increased to meet customer commitments. This required a quick adjustment of manufacturing and assembly processes to meet the new requirements. The focus on continuous monitoring and problem solving to fix any evolving issues during the ramp-up was needed to get to the run-rate as quickly as possible. BPG® took over the lead on production planning & process redesign as well as the daily operational management and problem solving task force.
